Holidy settings fixer

Drop in your Game.ini and it gets fixed on your own PC. Takes a minute. Nothing is uploaded.

Close Dune first, and lock the file after. The game rewrites this file every time it shuts down, so a fix made while it is open is thrown away — and an unlocked file is wiped at the next quit. Quit fully, fix, then step 5.
Use Chrome or Edge to fix it in one click. Firefox and Safari can’t write the file directly — here they hand you a fixed copy to put back yourself.

1. Open the folder

Press Win + E, then:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\DuneSandbox\Saved\Config\Windows

Paste it in Explorer’s address bar (Ctrl + V, Enter).

2. Drag Game.ini onto the box

That exact file — not GameUserSettings, not a .bak- one.

5. Lock the file — don’t skip this

Dune rewrites this file every time it shuts down and will wipe the fix. Locking it stops that. Nothing in the game breaks.
  1. In the folder from step 1, right‑click Game.ini → Properties.
  2. Tick Read‑only → OK.
  3. Come back and press the button below.

While it is locked the game can’t save graphics, language or HUD changes into this file. Untick Read‑only if you want to change those, then tick it again.

Putting the copy back

  1. It saved to Downloads. If it came out as Game (1).ini, rename it to Game.ini.
  2. Drag it into the folder from step 1 and choose Replace.
  3. Read‑only warning? Right‑click the old file, Properties, untick Read‑only, then replace it.
